Dr. Vara received his residency training in Occupational Medicine at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center. He is board certified in Occupational and Environmental Medicine and a fellow of the American College of Environmental and Occupational Medicine.

He is also a certified Medical Review Officer. He has served as in-plant medical director and staff physician at two Fortune 500 companies.
